Profile
Mick Runyon is an Analytical Chemist III and serves as lead Chemist for new microbiological methods/instruments implementation. Mick leads the Microscopy and Microbiology laboratories, serves as Co-Administrator of the Laboratory Information Management System and manages the Office of the Texas State Chemist collaboration with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Pulse Net program. Mick worked at the Texas Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Lab in the Drug Testing Lab for 1.5 years prior to transferring to OTSC. Mick obtained his BS in Microbiology from Texas A&M University '93. Mick served in the US Army, Artillery Fire Direction Center for 4 years, 1.5 of those years as a Noncommissioned Officer (Sergeant E-5).
