Ben Jones serves as the Assistant Director for the Office of the Texas State Chemist. His area "Field Operations" is comprised of 14 Field Investigators providing the “boots on the ground” regulatory oversight for the Texas feed and fertilizer industries. Ben leads the development and implementation of the annual plan of work for the Office of the Texas State Chemist. Ben earned his BS in Agriculture, with emphasis in agronomy and horticulture, from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX. Ben is active on a number of committees for the Association of American Plant Food Control Officials (AAPFCO), the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO), and served AAFCO as President from 2003 – 2004.
